Something to listen to, somewhere to go: Debtors Anonymous at 50
This year Debtors Anonymous turned 50. To mark it, DA held its first worldwide virtual convention on 30 and 31 May 2026. DA says more than 2,000 people from 43 countries joined, with over 100 speakers in seven languages. Most of it was recorded, and DA has now put the recordings online for anyone to hear, free.
There are 33 sessions. Nobody needs all of them. These are the five we would start with, depending on where you are right now. Further down are two chances to sit in a room with other members this autumn.
Five talks to start with
-
If you are new
Finding Your Way: Navigating the First 30 Days
A panel of four members on the first month in DA, put together by the Greater New York Intergroup. Good company if you have been to one meeting and are not sure about the second.
▶ Listen -
If you run a business
The Soulful CEO: Running a Spiritually Sustainable Business
The Business Debtors Anonymous session, organized by DA's world service BDA committee with members from Mexico and the US. For anyone whose debt and business are tangled together.
▶ Listen -
If earning is the sore spot
Income with Integrity: Living our Best Lives with Spiritually Sustainable Earning
Members from South Africa, the US and Finland on earning in a way that does not cost you your recovery.
▶ Listen -
With the holidays coming
Joy Without Debt: Planning for Holidays, Travel, and Beyond
For many people the holidays are when spending gets away from them. Worth hearing in October, before the gift lists start, not in January.
▶ Listen -
If your health is part of the story
Chronic Illness, Constant Hope: Staying Solvent Through Health Challenges
Hosted by members of DA's Tuesday Health Issues Meeting, for when the bills come from being unwell.

The rest of the list is on DA's convention recordings page, including sessions in Spanish, Portuguese and Russian. DA notes that speaker shares are personal experience and are not statements of DA policy. For older recordings, DA keeps a library of speaker shares going back to 2018.
If you would rather be in a room
Recordings are good at 1am. But there is something a speaker share cannot do, which is sit next to you. Two gatherings coming up:
"Living without Debt", London DA Fellowship Day
A full day, 9:30am to 5pm, hosted by a London DA meeting at Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, 235 Shaftesbury Avenue, near Covent Garden. The organizers say there will be chairs on both personal and business debting. Suggested donation is £10, paid ahead with the QR code on their flyer or at the door.
Service in Gratitude workshop, DA of Greater New York
Three speakers on DA service from 2:00 to 3:30pm Eastern, then a newcomers' session from 3:40 to 4:00pm. Suggested donation is $13, and the organizers say no one is turned away for lack of funds. You register by email. Their page does not say whether it is in person or online, so ask when you write.
We took these dates and details from each group's own page on 17 October 2026. Plans change, so check the page before you travel.
And the hours in between
A recording helps when you can't sleep. A fellowship day helps when you can get there. A lot of the hard moments happen somewhere else: at a checkout page at midnight, or in the car before you open an envelope.
That is where an AI sponsor fits. You can text it at any hour, say what you are about to do, and work out one small next step to take to your next meeting or call. It is not a financial adviser and it does not replace a sponsor or a meeting. It is not affiliated with Debtors Anonymous, and DA's Sixth Tradition says DA does not endorse outside enterprises.
If you are in crisis, call or text 988, or text HOME to 741741.
